When Movie Eye started back in 1996, finding a celebrity address was extremely difficult. Once an address was found, you had no idea if it was accurate, current, or if the celebrity would even respond if by some miracle it reached them. Basically it was like groping in the dark trying to find the light switch.
Back then, our successes were lukewarm at best and while our founder did manage to get a few celebrity autographed photos like Harvey Keitel, Al Pacino, and Susan Sarandon, the frustration was mounting.
This experience is what inspired the launch of Movie Eye. We didn't want anybody trying to contact a celebrity to go through what we went through! Now anyone can contact celebrities and collect free autographed photos by simply joining the Movie Eye community.

Although you are receiving something for "free", they also get something very important out of the deal. - Be genuine! Occasionally we see people sending form letters, or using a nearly demanding tone of voice when requesting signed photos. This will seldom result in a positive experience.
- Send something to be signed!! If you want to get an authentic signed autograph, give them something to sign! We have links throughout the site to help you find photos and posters that you could send.
- Be patient. While occasionally you may get something signed right away, normally it takes several weeks or months for a celebrity to respond to fanmail. We always recommend to send out several requests to different celebrities so that you will get responses on a more regular basis.
