Critic's Grade: A+

I have to honestly say that this movie is no doubt: THE WORST FILM OF 2002 AND IS ALSO ONE OF THE WORST FILMS EVER TO BE CREATED. I do not know what happens throughout the entire film because after an 30 minutes into the film I turned off the DVD and decided to watch the news.

What from I saw the year is 2080 and Pluto Nash (Eddie Murphy- Dr. Dolittle, Nutty Professor II: The Klumps) is an ex-convict who was just gotten out of prison. To save his best friend (Jay Mohr) from being killed by a ganster Pluto makes a deal with a mobb boss to take control over a run down wannabe club. 7 years later the place is the most talked and hippest spot in town. When another mob type guy wants to buy the place from Pluto and he wont things get hot and heavy and Pluto has to defend for his life.

Co-starring are: Randy Quiad (Bug Buster, Not Another Teen Movie), Pam Grier (Bones, Jackie Brown), Rosario Dawson (Men In Black 2, The 25th Hour), John Cleese (Harry Potter, Die Another Day), Joe Pantoliano (Memento, The Matrix, TVs The Sopranos), and Luis Guzman (Traffic).

The film was trashed by the critics, was by far the biggest flop of the year considering the movie cost $100 million to make and only made $4 at the box-office. But 2002 wasnt a good year for Eddie Murphy considering his other 2 films "Showtime" and "I Spy" both also flopped at the box-office and also recieved negative reviews from critics. After not gettin enough press release or promotion for the film I decided to wait for the film on DVD and I was very depressed and shocked at how bad the film was. Eddie Murphy had left his comedic and light hearted side to turn action hero in all 3 of his films and people just wanna see him having fun. He also did a more serious approach to his characters but change isnt always good.

The supporting performaces were horrible as well wasting the good acting abilities they have on such a dreaded film. For example Rosario Dawson isnt a house hold name yet but she is starring in more and more films and some of her previous films really showscased her talent but this film really didnt. And its no surprise that the film was supposed to be released almost 2 years ago.

The special effects used in the film are horrible and makes you wonder if the special effects designeres were jipped because the effects really arent that great. The director of the film which is Ron Underwood isnt a big name in Hollywood and im glad that he isnt.

The DVDs extras include the theatrical trailor, a music video from the soundtrack, additional scenes, it is web enabled, and a behind the scenes look at the music video.

This is movie is a bore, DO NOT GO RENT OR BUY THIS FILM

Out of a possible 4 stars deserves no stars
