Critic's Grade: A+

A decent horror film that has energy, is pretty fun to watch but proves that the contiuation of Michael Myers and sequels just needs to be stopped.

The film opens with Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curits- True Lies, Halloween: H20) being in a mental institution. She has been there for several years even though she has killed her brother one and for all---or so we think. Turns out Michael switched outfits with a policeman and Laurie ended up killing the wrong person which means Michael is still alive. After several minutes of avoiding each other, Michael and Laurie come face to face which ends in her murder.

Then we are introduced to the real plot of the film. A new reality program by the name of DangeTainment has been created. Behind the spectacular program are Freddie (Busta Rhymes- Finding Forrestor, Narc) and Nora (Tyra Banks- Coyote Ugly, Love Stinks) who are ready for a frightful night. The contest is 6 very different college students are chosen to spend the night in the childhood home of serial killer Michael Myers. Among the students are Sara (Bianca Kaljich- Brind it On), Bil (Thomas Ian Nicholas- American Pie 1 and 2), and Rudy (Sean Patrick Thomas- Save the Last Dance, Barbershop). The night is supposed to be harmless yet funny for the viewers but things turn deadly when Michael shows up and crashes the party.

I have to admit that I thought this film was going to be a dred and I wasnt going to see the film in theaters but I actually enjoyed watching the movie. Filled with twists and turns the movie actually was a enjoyable one to watch. The premise of the program in the movie seems like a "Real World" on the internet.

The film which was made for about $12 million was a small hit grossing over $30 million at the box-office. Also the film doesnt loose its touch by using all big name stars for the cast. Many of the main characters in the film are little know actors but their performances were very interesting. The personalities of the characters were very surreal to images the way people really are these days and it doesnt loose its touch on making it seem fake.

In all sadness the franchise said goodbye to Jamie Lee Curits' character Laurie Strode who met her fate in the first 15 minutes. The film made Curtis a star but proves it can continue without her. Not filled with special effects like other films are, "Halloween: Resurrection" is a very original film that is worth the cost to buy it and is very enjoyable.

Busta Rhymes lightens up his character and is actually very funny in the film but sometimes he does the character a little over the top and Ms. Banks delivers and equally entertaining performance.

The DVDs extras include Storyboard comparisons, feature commentary with the director, deleted and alternate scenes with optional commentary, photo gallery, behind the scenes documentaries, and many more.

So if u wanna see a loud, fun horror film on a Saturday night, then this is the film for you.

Out of a possible 4 stars, this film deserves 2 1/2 stars.

I felt this movie was just as good if not better than the first Halloween. Busta Rhymes added a different atmosphere, which made it entertaining. I will definately watch in again.

This was the best halloween movie. It was very scary, except, Jami Lee Curtis shouldn't have got killed at the begining and Busta Rymes was cool!!
