What brings me outta a 4 year retirement? A great start to the 2006 movie season, that's what; starting with this flick. This movie puts the pulp in Pulp Fiction. It's style is the same but the movie is better. It stars Josh Hartnett (Black Hawk Down, 40 Days and 40 Nights) as a regular Joe on his way to meet a friend in NY. When he arrives, he ends up being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Mistaken identity forces him to appear in front of a Gangster named The Boss played by Morgan Freeman (Batman Begins, Million Dollar Baby) and the Rabbi, a rival gangster played by Sir Ben Kingsley (House of Sand and Fog, Sneakers). The only bright spot in his vist to the City is the cute and sexy Lucy Liu who plays his inquisitive new next door neighbor doubling as a coroner. No one is safe in this movie for the sole purpose that nothing is how it seems until Bruce Willis makes it final. Bruce plays a great role as a world class assassin (as he so adamantly reminds Josh's character) exacting punishement and revenge on everyone as per the instructions of his employer. But he is not without a kind heart. Now because I write PRE-views and not RE-views I can only tell you that justice is served, many are dead and when I die, I want Lucy Liu to do my autopsy. 4 Beers for this one. Murder, mayhem, star power, a few laughs and a hot chick make it all a recipe for a good time. But you know...that's just my opinion. It's good to be back!
