This is a semi futuristic flick about an anti hero who takes on a totalitarian government to exact his revenge on a science experiment gone bad. Because he was the guinea pig in the experiment, he has been forced to where a mask to hide his disfigurement. While on course to meet his maker and simultaneousy cause a revolution, this martyr called V, played by Hugo Weaving (Smith from the Matrix Trilogy) runs across a diamond rebel in the rough who helps him escape momentary capture. This diamond named Evey played by Natalie Portman (Queen Padme Amidala - Star Wars 1,2,3) learns his way of life and terminal plans for the future. While she runs from the government for assisting V she gets caught and held in captivity until she is released for loyalty. Falling for the young woman, V asks that she return to see him one last time before he faces his destiny. The year has gone by and the oppressed crowd has grown loyal to the anomaly known as V. The day he is schedule to lead the revolt, Evey returns with a heavy heart and pleads with him to change his mind. The movie is has Matrix-like action, empowerment and compassion to the people. Cool flick. 3 and a half beers. The Wachowskis know what they are doing. But that just my opinion.
