Nice. What started out as a boring follow up to the first 'Pirates', turned out to be a pretty decent sequel. It started with Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) getting arrested on their wedding day for aiding and abetting the notorious Captain Jack Sparrow. Will makes a deal with the sinister Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander - The Libertine, Pride and Prejudice) to bring back Jack or the key to the Dead Man's Chest. Simultaneously, Jack gets a visit from Bootstrap Bill warning him that the infamous Davey Jones is looking for him, to repay his debt or surrender his soul. Bootstrap tells Jack to locate the key so that he can open the chest, the chest that holds Davey Jones' heart. He who hold's the key owns the sea. Jack volunteers an unsuspecting Will Turner to Davey as collateral while he figures a way to obtain the key. Little does he know, Davey Jones has it all along. This movie doesn't pick up until the appearance of Bootstrap Bill and Davey Jones, who along with his first mate a hammerhead have great costumes, make the journey interesting. After realizing how long the movie goes on, you really don't want it to end. Depp is as funny and clever as ever, even if he seems a little bit more "stylish" than the first "Pirates". Knightley's "Elizabeth" turns into a bold, ass kicking seductress who cons Captain Jack into going down with the ship, and you wonder how this franchise continues...until you see Barbossa, the evil captain of the first movie. Three and a half stars gents. Keira's hot, Johnny's funny, they've got cool looking bad guys and the rum is always flowing....but then again, that's just my opinion.
