Dan and Nancy: Now Playing
The Broomfield Enterprise, Broomfield, CO

As the title suggests, "Unfaithful" is a story about someone being unfaithful. In this case it is the wife who has a torrid affair with man after they literally run into each other on the street. As the affair progresses, the husband begins to suspect something and finally takes action to stop it. Starring Richard Gere ("the Mothman Prophecies"), Diane Lang ("The Glass House"), and Oliver Martinez ("Before Night Falls"). Rated ?R' for strong sexual content and language. Time spent hiding in a dark theater with your extra-marital flame or wishing you had one: 115 minutes.

Nancy's Take: A roof over your head, a loving husband, and a son that means the world to you; what every woman wants, right? But one day a new man enters your life and everything that was important is jeopardized by an affair.
"Unfaithful" is a Lifetime-type movie that paints a pretty picture, but all along there is trouble. I was really disappointed in "Unfaithful." On the Lifetime movie channel it would've had more twists and would've made you cry, but this definitely didn't have either. It felt like they just threw the story out and thought the actors would do the rest. Well it didn't work.
Diane Lang did a wonderful job; I can't believe how good she looks at her age. I was a bit jealous. Richard Gere; I have no idea why anyone wouldn't want to be married to him. Oliver Martinez bugged me the love interest and I don't know why. Maybe that he didn't have a trusting face or that his accent didn't seem to fit him.
Was this movie worth the price of admission? No, maybe as a rental but not on the big screen. Would I see it again? No. Lately I feel that affairs are portrayed everywhere, and I'm tired of it. What ever happened to vows? Then people wonder why divorces are on the rise. The more it's talked about and shown the more acceptable it becomes. Just a deep thought by me.

Dan's take: If it weren't for Nancy, I never would have gone to see "Unfaithful." It looked like a total chick-flick. But you know, it was a powerful and emotional flick. Passion, anger, and sadness all played a role. It was sad but not as sad as "ER" was when Dr. Greene died. I had a lump in my throat the size of a cantaloupe during that show but of course, no tears.
Diane Lang did great all the way through this flick. She was totally convincing and pretty good-looking too. Richard Gere hid in the shadows for most of the flick but came through strong in the end as well. I was happy to see the chick being the one who is unfaithful in this flick. It is almost always the dude portrayed as the home wrecker while chicks are never anything but saints. Oh please.
One thing that stood out in this flick was the high amount of sexual content. I think it was needed to show the extreme level of passion, but it may be too graphic for some.
Was "Unfaithful" worth the price of admission? Yes. Would I see it again? Probably not.
I also snuck in to see the end of "Lord of the Rings" for the preview of the next installment and it looks awesome. It looks like a dark movie with tons of fighting between huge armies. I can't wait.
