Critic's Grade: A+

A predictable movie, but is romantic and is one of the best date movies of 2001.

Mary Fiore (Jennifer Lopez- The Cell, Anaconda) is a wedding planner. She's hard-working, beautiful, and knows how to plan a wedding. The only problem is, she can't keep a man of her own. Her first love cheated on her and she's never gotten over the hurt since. On a day to work, Mary accidentally gets her foot caught in a hole and is barely rescued by handsome doctor Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey- Frailty, A Time to Kill). After a few dates, Mary and Steve begin to fall in love. Then the unthinkable happens. Mary just got the biggest name in Hollywood to let her plan their wedding. The bride is a rich young woman (Bridgette Wilson-Sampras- House on Haunted Hill, Mortal Kombat) and the groom turns out to be Eddie. Mary immeadaility hates him and doesn't want to hurt the bride. As the two get mader at each other, they realize they've fallen in love and can't stop their attraction. But will Eddie leave his fiancee for Mary?

A sweet romantic comedy that is very predictable but is a great movie. You know how the movie's going to turn out since we've seen the trailor and it shows the major parts, but it's a great film. It's far better than many of the other romantic films of 2001 that included "America's Sweethearts", "Angel Eyes" and "Serendipity". Lopez and McConaughey have great chemistry and makes you love this film.

Bridgette Wilson is absolutely wonderful as Fran and brings every character she plays to life. Also starring is Judy Greer (Jawbreaker, What Women Want), Kathy Najimy (Rat Race, Sister Act 2), and Justin Chambers (The Musketeer, Hysterical Blindness). The film was directed by Adam Shankman (A Walk to Remember) and had an all-star cast.

Lopez whose previous films include the sci-fi hit "The Cell", the biography film "Selena", the dramatic film "Angel Eyes", the action-thriller "Anaconda", the dramatic/suspenseful hit "Enough", and the animated hit "Antz". Her portrayl as Mary was funny and very different. And Matthew McConaughey was wonderful as Eddie.

Many of the jokes in the film were put into romantic sayings or romantic accidents that helps you say "Aren't they Cute Together?" and helps you have a tear by the end of the film. At many times in the film who sometimes wonder how a movie like this was created when many of the twists in the plots were simple and predictable.

An excellent romantic film that is great.

Out of a possible 4 stars, this movie deserves a good 3 stars.
